Where do you live and work (City)?
Live in Sheffield, but have virtully never worked there! Work throughout the UK also recently quite a bit in what we term "the Middle East"
What are your top professional skills?
Facilitating action learning
Working with diversity

What kinds of management education and development services are you involved in?
Mostly in social care, "public sector", health. Coaching, action learning, developing developers. Leadership development.
What is your main interest in the AMED network?
networking, inspiration, collegiate discussion/debate, collaboration, personal development

What kind of person are you?
More about you (Short Bio or any other details you’d like people to know)
I used to be a somewhat active member of AMED, playing a role in what were then exciting "frontiers" such as managment self-development, women and men working together, and spiritual development. There was then what I perceived as a radical shift in AMED's direction and culture to become very "conventionally, hierarchically managerialist", coupled with a drive to double its membership and recruit large numbers of line managers. The whole mood changed and I lost my enthusiasm. My take on the Yeats quote that I have given is that in times of complexity and "wicked problems" the centre CANNOT hold and needs to recognise this. It is desperate attemts to cling on to centralisedpower that lead to "mere anarchy". We need to learn to give vpoice to the voceless and work with distributed leadership
What I’d like from the AMED network is…
Welcome, acceptance, willingness to explore challenging ideas and practices
What do you do for your own development?
Work with stimulating colleagues; try out new ideas, tools, processes; write; read; act in amatueur and professional companies; garden; do tapestry weaving;
Your Business Website but it's badly out of date!

Our next scheduled event is 20 August (see Events)

There are about 85 members of the AWG, and at any one time, 10-15 people attend - and never exactly the same people. People come when they can.

You can find out more about how we work if you click on Groups/Writers Group. We also have an annual collaborative Writing Workshop (in Brighton for the last 2 years) usually in May, to coincide with the Brighton Festival).
