Hi Sandy
Thanks for sharing your thoughts about our project - it's really great you're taking the initiative at home.
We are really lucky in that we have are working with two young guys who are designing some great software enabling us to draw up a whole energy picture showing everything (including embedded carbon) into Kilowatt/Hours. Obviously some of the calculations are a lot simpler (and therefore more accurate) than others...take a look at their website (www.openenergymonitor.org).
We are going to look at community scale renewables as the ideal solution and have all these conversations about dilemmas like major energy companies' renewable tariffs and the like as a group to really get to grips with the issues at stake.
We'll be a mixed group at first (home owners, renters, big families, small ones, etc) which will be challenging, but it's the real life hurdles facing sustainability which we're interested. The idea is to pass our monitors on after a year to another 20 households and extend the network - we might look at what we've learnt and do more specific recruitment to learn different things - e.g. recruit 20 under 30 year olds.
Your fuel monitor sounds great - that's something we could definitely look at.
I'll keep you updated...just as long as we are successfully and sustainably funded! All suggestions welcome :)
Warm wishes,
Beth

Hi Sandy,

Good to see you here!  You may want to join the Sustainable Development Group, and also check out the Coaching group.

Hope you enjoyed the graphic facilitation workshop. I know Andrea would be keen to hear your views and get your suggestions for workshops or sessions you'd like to attend - or lead.

Warmly,

Penny
