What kind of person are you?
More about you (Short Bio or any other details you’d like people to know)
I am passionate about coaching and supporting individuals and teams to facilitate real changes in their lives. My role as a coach and consultant is to help my clients challenge their own status quo, uncovering new perspectives in the process and revealing new choices for what they choose to do, why they do it and how they do it.
When working with my clients, my focus is on giving them the time, space and confidence to give full expression to the topics they bring, to feel able to reflect on and learn from their experiences and, in so doing, expand their own self-awareness as they address the challenges they face.
My objective is to listen without judgement and with curiosity, providing a safe space in which my clients can feel heard. I encourage critical reflection on experiences and I highlight patterns of behaviour I see. Together, we will challenge hidden beliefs and assumptions that might be playing a part in creating the topics we look to address.
I spent my early career as an accountant working in senior finance roles for companies such as Oracle, before moving into management consultancy. During my 11 years working for Price Waterhouse and Ernst & Young, I was responsible for delivering major change programmes. I continued much of this work at the BBC before setting up my own business in 2004, focusing on coaching and consulting.
What I’d like from the AMED network is…
I am looking for insights into coaching individuals and teams, both for my own development as a coach and, potentially, for the ongoing development of my services, particularly as a team coach.
What do you do for your own development?
I set aside time to read in and around my areas of professional interest. I focus not only on literature that is specifically targeted at coaching, but also related literature in the fields of therapy, philosophy and neuroscience.
I attend a range of seminars and webinars through accredited training providers to support my CPD. In 2015 I completed my MA in Coaching and Mentoring Practice at Oxford Brookes Business School and am currently researching courses to extend my knowledge in coaching and related practices.
Welcome to te AMED Network. How about posting an mage of yourself, so that you and your new-found colleagues can spot each other readily over time/space? I'm looking forward to meeting you in person before too long.
