What kinds of management education and development services are you involved in?
I am developing my offer in participation training/consultancy especially interested to work in education settings
Please share your favourite management development insight or quote.
I like this quote from Philip Cam, about doing philosophy with children: "If only people were better at asking appropriate questions, articulating problems and issues, imagining life’s possibilities, seeing where things lead, evaluating the alternatives open to them, engaging in discussion with one another and thinking collaboratively, then we would all be so much better off." (Simple. Accessible. Non-jargonistic.)
What kind of person are you?
More about you (Short Bio or any other details you’d like people to know)
I have an eclectic background in the arts, education and advice work, delivering training in all three sectors.

I have worked as a trainer with people of varied backgrounds and needs, from disaffected teenagers to prisoners to theatre practitioners to senior education leaders.

I was the director of the innovative Creative Partnerships programme in Sheffield, England, from 2005 – 2009, training and managing a team of professionals who worked with partner schools in all key stages to promote creativity. Subsequently I worked with the creative education organisation, Cape UK, developing their professional learning programme for teachers and school leaders, before going freelance.

Previously I had a mixed career portolio, e.g.
• for six years I worked in HIV/AIDS advice work
• for three years I was Deputy Manager of a Citizen’s Advice Bureau and a regional trainer in Yorkshire and Humberside
• for seven years I ran a youth theatre, teaching drama and making shows with young people and running a young leaders programme

I see myself as a builder of creative learning communities within which there is a high level of participation and mutual respect.

I see such communities as essential in these times of unprecedented economic and environmental upheaval.
What I’d like from the AMED network is…
- identify potential collaborators for disseminating participatory dialogue and planning skills, including in schools
- link up with others working on climate change issues
What do you do for your own development?

Collaborative projects
