Thanks for the welcome David, and you're right it's an amazing trasition from engineering, if not necessarily an easy one. I did manage to upload a profile photo, but only after uploading it to the wrong area of the site completely! (can't seem to delete it from there either). Also I've submitted a paper I've written on leadership as part of some work I've done at Roffey Park which might be of interest. Thanks again and I look forward to having a good look around the site.
Thank you for your message, it is an exciting time with lots of work to be done.
The charity has grown considerably over the last year with all of the extra work load this put on the HR team Ruth our Head of Organisational Development was appointed, she in turn brought me in along with an Organisational Development Project Coordinator.
The site was recommended to me through Roffey Park (Just started their People & OD MSc programme) and I certainly hope BA are still employing OD consultants otherwise I'm in trouble!
Well we got a full house, and used a venue which worked very well and had fabulous food. We worked well as a team: one of the least stressful events I've organised. There was a wide range of responses to the format and the conversations we ended up having. Some people really felt they had an exhilarating and different kind of day, others felt they were treading a circle they'd trod many times before and that the conversation was neither deep nor open. Fascinating that the same objective experience is felt so differently by the people who are collectively making it.
I'd love to run something along these lines again, and understand more what enables the "deep open" connection to occur for some and what gets in the way for others.
Thanks for getting in touch so quickly. I've been an AMED member since the 1990s, so not a re-join. Some confusion over my email address left me out of the loop but I'm back in it now!
Thanks for your message and please accept my apologies for my apparent tardiness in replying-I lost your email, found it, tagged it but have only now gotten round to replying to you...
I was on holiday last year in Iceland, a beautiful country, so much to see but so little time-I will return some day...speaking of which I will return to AMED too, and visit the different forums as suggested separately
It's radical, revolutionary and gives a picture of the whole system change that is needed to address climate change, ecological destruction and make the world fairer and less violent. It describes what needs to be done and what all of us need to do to make a better world happen. We can’t depend on governments to do what's needed and we have to push them hard and demand that they do it.
So, I have tried to write a really accessible book, making it available as a free PDF, to help people inform themselves and be activists - It should be in print in a few months.

It is from Balmedie beach, taken on my iPhone4 using the hipstamatic application. I thought it was quite interesting photo, the constant flow of the sea yet the log remains calm and still.

Thanks David, I've come across it a number of times - through the Deming Alliance, and was prompted to join because of Barry Oshry writing an article!
Cheers

Would you like to add something in O&P about my new free PDF book - see http://www.brucenixon.com/betterworld.html ?
