"Love is on the Way" is the title of a short poem I wrote at a Poetry Writing workshop that was part of a GRTA conference a long time ago. It is relevant now. In spite of all the turmoil of Brexit and Donald Trump and Climate Change, there is a positive change coming. Paul Hawken's book "Blessed Unrest" refers to the two million organisations worldwide that are actively seeking to make the world a better place. Of course, we and they may fail, but I would rather be optimistic and do my bit than be pessimistic and paralysed by despair.
We just need to get the simple "love tools" we know out there. We all know that being present, listening, taking turns, sharing feelings, even just sitting in a circle create trust and cooperation and love.
My poem follows.
Love is on the way!
Tenderness dances
Through these halls
Love and fun and reality
Create harmonious music
In the eyes of God
There is a change coming
Love is on the way!
Transforming, growing
recreating,
A wondrous glowing
Bright enchantment
A tracery of lace
Living like a web
Caught in the sunlight in
A September morning.
Let me not forget that
Love in reality is the world
made magic by simplicity.
