Profile Information

Would you be willing to offer a pro- bono session for other AMED members and networkers?
Where do you live and work (City)?
What are your top professional skills?
coaching/personal development, mentoring, team working, psychometric assessment/development, lecturing, empirical research, facilitation
What is your main interest in the AMED network?
networking, inspiration, collegiate discussion/debate, collaboration, personal development
Please share your favourite management development insight or quote.
Management and leadership are not either-or: both are vitally important for individual and organisational success.

Text-book notions about leadership are poor reflections of reality.
What kind of person are you?
More about you (Short Bio or any other details you’d like people to know)
I am happily retired and though active, enjoy the slower pace. It's great being able to choose where to invest my time. I'm learning to paint and write (fiction), content with the process.
My main professional interest is how individuals in leadership roles construe themselves as leaders (leadership mindset) , the impacts this has, and enabling them to develop effective self-construals.
Humanising work organisations is a huge challenge and I'm keen to help in a small way.
I do a little pro-bono coaching and lecturing on leadership.
What I’d like from the AMED network is…
To refresh my learning/thinking about leadership, management, organisation, change, personal development.
To have feedback and suggestions on the approach I have developed to explore leaders' mindsets.
Engage with kindred spirits, to share ideas and learning.
What do you do for your own development?
I read. I continue to do a very little research on leaders' mindsets and the role played by organisational factors and individuals' traits on their mindsets. I learn from the few individuals I mentor and from the students I occasionally lecture to. I'm learning hands-on about painting and drawing; and about writing - mostly self-learning.

Hello again, Brian

Actually, you can post your pic (might be better there) to replace the 3 circles in the top left hand box.  If you have problems doing this, do contact Linda (Williams) at our AMED Office, and she can guide you through the process.  She's a whizz, and very helpful.  Best wishes.  Bob

Hello, Brian.  As a native of, and long-time exile from, Edinburgh, I'd like to welcome you especially to the AMED Network. How about posting an image of yourself, so that you and your new-found colleagues can connect with each other more viscerally over time-space?  I hope you find - and feel able to contribute to within AMED - some mutually enriching relationships.  best wishes.  Bob
