Metamorphosis and change
Change, both inner and outer, is always with us, and it can be helpful to recruit the imagination to aid our understanding of how it is happening. For this, metamorphosis is a useful concept. This workshop will use the traditional metamorphosis metaphor of caterpillar - chrysalis - butterfly to explore how it feels to be in different stages of the metamorphosis process, through writing - and drawing - our way in. We will reflect on how all this applies to transitions in both our personal and professional lives.
Alison is a long-time creative writing tutor with an MA in creative writing for personal development, poetry and short fiction. Her special interest is in the crossover between personal development and the production of powerful writing. So she has initiated a programme of themed workshops focused on exploration and discovery. You can find out more about Alison’s work at: https://www.facebook.com/CreativeWritingInRotherhithe.
Cost (payable by Paypal, BACS or cheque here, or on arrival): £12 for full AMED Members; £15 for Networkers and Guests. This includes light refreshments.
Afterwards, if you can linger, you can continue our conversations just across the road at The Ship pub.
Please let me know by 17 August (earlier if possible) if you're planning to come on 19 August. It would also be a great help if you could indicate your intentions in the RSVP panel on the right hand side of this Events web page.
Everyone is welcome, so please feel free to spread the word.
Best wishes. Bob firstname.lastname@example.org
