What is the relationship between writing and resilience?
We open our 2015 AMED Writers’ Group season with a typically interactive session in which Siobhan will facilitate an exploration of the connection between writing and resilience. Depending on how our interactions develop, she will draw upon a range of philosophies and ‘tools’. So we may well encounter aspects of CBT-style thinking, dialogue, mindfulness, mindmapping, shamanism, NLP, creative narrative as therapy, journaling, poetry – and, of course, conversation. Come prepared to be surprised and delighted.
Siobhan has been serving as an eminent coach and facilitator of senior leaders and decision-makers for over 20 years. She has written many articles for various professional publications, including one for e-O&P. In 2009 she self-published a handbook on self-sustainability for busy executives called “Work Endurance”, and in 2011 authored a chapter for Madam CEO called “Getting to the very top”. Through the years she has experimented with approaches to journaling for recording learning and for processing life events. Her leadership development topics include Storytelling for Leaders, which draws on the work of Stephen Denning. Her current doctoral studies give her the opportunity to review recent literature on narrative as a tool for developing resilience and maturity.
In her spare time Siobhan sings and dances – though not at the same time! You can contact Siobhan @ firstname.lastname@example.org.
Cost (payable on arrival): £12 for full AMED Members; £15 for Networkers and Guests. This includes light refreshments.
And afterwards, we invite you to continue our resilient conversations just across the road at The Ship pub.
RSVP: Please let me know if you're planning to come on 20 February. If you can, please indicate your intentions in the RSVP panel on the right hand side of this Events web page.
Please note that we publicise AWG events on several platforms, so the RSVPs on this web page do not represent everyone who is coming!
Best wishes. Bob email@example.com
