Your invitation

Please join us for the AMED Writers' Group’s end-of-year review and celebrations, followed by an optional (but highly recommended!) visit to our local pub (The Ship).

Our celebrations include (optionally) sharing your favourite word of the year (from this Oxford Dictionaries, or from your own, list) that for you best reflects a prevalent ethos, mood, or development in 2015.  If there's time, we might also have a short, fun quiz about when certain words entered the English lexicon. In any case, please bring along some favourite writing (your own or someone else's) from 2015 to share in pairs or small groups in a 'Private Passions' session.  You might bring an artefact, a recording (wi-fi is available), an account of an experience - anything!  We'll also be looking forward to our 2016 writing year.

I'll also be reporting on ideas and suggestions that we've received for AWG sessions and themes for AMED's journal e-Organisations and People in 2016 - and beyond - and inviting your comments.

This typically open and informal gathering is a wonderful opportunity to meet old and new friends who are interested in writing, reading, listening, conversations and conviviality in any form.

Cost (payable on arrival):  £12 for full AMED Members; £15 for Networkers and Guests.  This includes light  refreshments - and you are welcome to bring some optional festive nibbles to share :).

Everyone is welcome, so please feel free to spread the word.

Our emerging 2016 programme

Here are advance details of our unfolding 2016 programme.  Usually we meet in the afternoons at Roots & Shoots on the 3rd Friday of every even-numbered month, with a bonus all-day visit to the seaside for our annual writing workshop during the Brighton Festival on Friday 20 May.

Best wishes. Bob  E: bob@amed.org.uk

RSVP: If you can, please indicate your intentions in the RSVP panel on the right hand side of this Events web page by 17 December (earlier if possible). Please note that we publicise AWG events on several different platforms.  So the RSVPs you see on this web page do not represent everyone who is coming.

Seasonal greetings. Bob bob@amed.org.uk
