Event Description

Please join us on Thursday 11 September in virtual space to help generate conversations that make a difference

AMED and Inter-Logics are hosting an online gathering on the theme of working across boundaries, the first of a series which will grow into a conference. We are using the GoToMeeting facilitiy (see guidelines in the Comments panel below this posting for how to log in.  Everyone is welcome.

Our focus

To uncover the amazing opportunities created when a diverse community of stakeholders come together to reach shared understanding and explore shared interests.

We are initiating an evolving inquiry into situations which are challenging conventional ideas about organisations, management and leadership, using any means available to facilitate our exploration. This collaboration between AMED and inter-logics reflects AMED's running theme of 'Exploring Frontiers'.

Some initial inquiry questions:

How can we recognise and sustain effective collaboration in and across complex, stressed environments?

How can we frame our personal communications and pool our resources to enhance cooperation?

What can we do individually and collectively to foster team working across boundaries?

How can we safeguard the interests of vulnerable individuals and communities from undue bureaucracy and politics?

Framing our conversations

Virtually, we'll share our deep and broad experiences.  We’ll uncover new insights and celebrate  promising practices in the context of  themes which might include, amongst others:

Whistle-blowing,Health and Social Care,Communities and Crisis Response Organisations, and Citizens and Institutions as Co-Producers etc.

If you share our commitment to fostering the potential of communities to engage in more effective working across boundaries, you will be most welcome.

Meantime, there's still time to contribute to our special themed Autumn 2014 edition of e-O&P?

We're currently at work on a special issue of  e-O&P on the theme of  Organising and Managing Across Boundaries,  to be published in late September.  So we welcome articles, stories, pictures, poems, interviews, conversations or talk-pieces via video/audio  link etc. Please contact our guest editors via  this Call for Contributions.pdf, and/or join our Discussion Forum here, or via AMED LinkedIn.
