About core process
Nick writes: ‘Each of us has a unique talent. When we know what it is and use it, we are inspired and inspire others. We make a valuable contribution in the world and enable ourselves and others to lead more fulfilling lives.
We’ve all had times in our lives when we’ve performed at our peak, times when we’ve felt fully alive, so absorbed by what we’ve been doing that nothing else has mattered.
This is the secret of happiness and it is possible for everyone. Through core process, you can realise your potential very quickly, by discovering what it is you do magnificently, what it is you were born to do, and what no one else can do quite like you.
Core Process is a journey of self-discovery through reflective writing and conversation that results in articulating a pair of words that capture the essence of who you - uniquely – are. This is you at your best.
How we’ll work together
On 26 April, following a brief introduction, I’ll demonstrate a quick version with a volunteer. You’ll then have a chance to experiment with the approach, starting by telling a story (or stories) about a time when you felt fully alive “This is what life is meant to be like!” Then, working with a partner, you’ll take turns in creating some words to describe what you were doing in one of those peak experiences. Next. you’ll distil them further into just two words that deeply resonate with you. It’s a relatively speedy and simple process, but very profound.
Core process is all open source. We will also talk and write about how we might, as individual team members, use the tool in work and other contexts.’ Both coach and client find it intensely rewarding, perhaps because it's positive, deep and safe.

About your facilitator: Nick writes
‘I was originally a scientist but changed my career and life completely a long time ago to be initially an internal OD consultant, facilitator and coach with ICI. Since 1982 I have been freelance, doing similar work in a wide range of organisations, large and small and with individuals. I learned Core Process from Chris Bull, one of the developers of the method in the 1970’s, and have used it with many people since to good effect. I have been both a Samaritan and a Marriage Guidance Counsellor (Now “Relate”). My own Core Process is “Creating Awareness”. Contact: Nick Heap 07879 861525 and firstname.lastname@example.org. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or comments about core process.'
