In the wake of the post-Brexit and Trumped-up doldrums, please help to raise our spirits by joining us for the AMED Writers' Group’s 2016 end-of-year review and celebrations. These will be followed by an optional (but highly recommended!) visit to our local pub (The Ship).
Our celebrations include (optionally) sharing a word or phrase that for you best reflects a prevalent ethos, mood, or development in 2016. In any case, please bring along some favourite writing (your own or someone else's) from 2016 to share in pairs or in small groups in a 'Private Passions' session. We can also arrange a table-top exhibition. You might bring along an artefact, a recording (wi-fi is available), an account of an experience - anything for you that's evocative of some writing! We'll also be looking forward to our 2017 writing year.
I'll also be reporting on ideas that we've received so far for AWG sessions and themes for AMED's journal e-Organisations and People in 2017 - and beyond - and inviting your comments and suggestions.
This typically open and informal gathering is a wonderful opportunity to meet old and new friends who are interested in writing, reading, listening, conversation and conviviality in any form.
Cost (payable in advance by Paypal, BACS or cheque here, or on arrival): £12 for full AMED Members; £15 for Networkers and Guests. This includes light refreshments - and of course you are welcome to bring some optional festive nibbles to share :).
RSVP by 15 December if at all possible. Please note that we start at 1.15 pm for 1.30 pm, not at 2.15 pm as I wrote in error in some e-mails.
Everyone is welcome, so please feel free to spread the word.
With very best wishes for the festive season, and for 2017. Bob E: firstname.lastname@example.org
