Notice of AMED Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM)
via Zoom on Thursday 26 May 2022 at 1.00 pm 

As a follow-up to our December 2021 and February 2022 newsletter on the future of AMED, the Trustees have been in active dialogue with a number of individuals and organisations, hoping to find options for ensuring AMED’s sustainable future. Whilst considerable support has been voiced for AMED’s achievements, after giving the matter careful consideration, nobody who was contacted has felt able to take on the governance of the Association as it stands. Please read the background, context and full EGM proposal for more details.
 
At our EGM on 26 May we invite fully subscribing Members, who pay an annual membership fee, to vote upon the following Resolution:
 
We approve the dissolution on 31 August 2022 of AMED as a charity and as a company limited by guarantee, along with the legal distribution of any remaining assets.

If you are unable to attend, we would be very grateful if you would complete and return by 19 May the Proxy Form to ensure a quorum for the meeting. It’s also an opportunity for you to vote on which charity should receive the remaining surplus funds.  
 
A Celebration and rite of passage
Whilst the end of AMED as we knew it seems inevitable, we are proud to have been a part of its illustrious history. So, we propose to set aside our sadness and mark its dissolution – should that be agreed - with a celebration at Roots and Shoots, London, on Friday 1 July (details and expressions of interest tbc).

We look forward to seeing full members online at the EGM via Zoom on 26 May and as many full/associate members as possible in person on 1 July.
