Dr. Patrick Finn is a performance expert working in the Faculty of Arts. He is particularly interested in the connection between performance and various forms of technology, where technology can be anything from vocal technique and alphabets to complex computer algorithms. He has written books on story and creativity and has two new books underway – one which studies the history of information technology and another that argues that creativity and not criticism should be at the heart of education. In creative practice, he has just designed a piece of presentation technology in order to stage performances in a more technologically rich, portable and sustainable way. This work includes performance, commentary, dissemination and a tour of the work.
