What kind of person are you?
Evening
More about you (Short Bio or any other details you’d like people to know)
I've been a market gardener, researcher in Mathematics, University lecturer and teacher. Now I'm a publisher but also to spend more time growing edible and useful crops. My writing has almost all been technical and I'd like to find a way of combining writing, publishing and computing.
What I’d like from the AMED network is…
To gain confidence in my ideas and try them out in public in a new forum; my previous experience of writing and public speaking is limited mostly to teaching and attending conferences in specialist fields such as logic and theoretical computer science.
What do you do for your own development?
I follow the evolution of social computation and learn how to use tools such as Mathematica to create useful and beautiful artefacts. I try new things such as becoming a publisher and permaculturalist. I play with geometry and structure. I learn a lot from the publications we produce. I have coaching sessions with a professional coach.

Dear Matthew

Welcome to the AMED Network. I do hope you'll be able to join us at the AMED Writers' Group on 21 August. Who knows - following that, you might even consider writing an article for our November issue of 'Organisations and People on 'Writing Futures'. Your background seems eminently suited to this blend of 'futurology' and writing. Do give me a call if you'd like to have a chat - Tel: 02380-238-458 is probably best, and leave a message if necessary. I'll call you back as soon as I can. Or simply confirm here that you'd like to attend.

I look forward to meeting you. Best wishes. Bob
