Then think of who in the world is really having a bad day: that keeps you going until you actually do see your problem is just an "opportuniy" or you find the "solution"

More about you (Short Bio or any other details you’d like people to know)
Have been in teaching for 25 years in Salford, Wigan, Spain and Scotland. The last 9 years have been as a Deputy Head in a very large secondary school in North East Scotland.

BA (Hons) English & International Relations, PGCE Secondary English, PSE and SEN, MA English & Spanish (Interpreting), SQH (Scottish qualification for Head Teacher), PG Autism Studies.

Wide range of interests within work and personal contexts including improving management of people, systems, achievement and uses of time in the work place. In relation to teaching my special interests and areas of expertise are: all aspects regarding the learning and teaching of pupils with all types of additional support needs (SEN in England) and developing Enterprise and Citizenship across the curriculum to prepare students for learning, life and work.
What I’d like from the AMED network is…
Networking, inspiration, new ideas.

What do you do for your own development?
Continually research new ways of working and extending my own knowledge and experience through networking with local businesses, services and organisations as well as education course providers. Of course extensive reading to keep up to date with all the new educational / management developments too!
