Jan Hall commented on john heywood's event 'IFAL Clean Language'
"Really looking forward to this.. I guess we aim to be 'clean' in action learning - that is, as far as possible avoid loading/muddying the questioning with our own assumptions and preferences - Clean Language offers a template explicitly…"

IFAL Clean Language at Diorama Arts Studios, Central London

November 5, 2013 from 9:30am to 4:30pm
Clean Language is a style of questioning that imposes limits on the questioner in order to reduce bias and encourage a more meaningful, deeper response. The questions are simple in structure yet powerful in their impact. When delivered in a steady, slow rhythm, they create an introspective state of mind in the receiver, similar to mindfulness and meditation.See more at IFAL Event:…See More

What kind of person are you?
More about you (Short Bio or any other details you’d like people to know)
I worked for over 20 years in advice centres in south London, as an adviser and manager then went freelance in 2000. Since then I've worked as an external coach for a pharma company and for the last 10 years I work with colleagues mainly in the public and health sectors running training courses in action learning, which is a particular interest.

I edit an online newsletter called SetMatch, which helps people to find and join an action learning set and I'm an executive member of the International Foundation for Action Learning.

I live on a narrowboat and plan to explore more of the canal and river network - the boat's now a floating office thanks to mifi!
What I’d like from the AMED network is…
inspiration, community, encouragement, sharing of ideas, social times, interesting events
What do you do for your own development?
I've been a member of several action learning sets, the longest was for 7 years, now after a few years' gap I'm looking for another to join
I read books, blogs and online forums
Attend workshops, most recently in co-counselling
