Trained as an accountant after university, worked in the City of London. Defected to education as a teacher, college lecturer and education officer. Returned to private sector in early 50s undetaking work assignments in developing countries with international charities and UN sponsored programmes. Director of Alban Watts Associates for eleven years in change and project management in the UK, Australia and New Zealand. Undergaduate of two universities, PGCE, post graduate of one university,(management). Post grad diploma in HR
What I’d like from the AMED network is…
Articles, occasional networks/contacts. Inspiration and ideas
What do you do for your own development?
I read, attend lectures/seminars (eg RSA). governor of two schools (one primary as Chair, one independent as Chair of HR). Studying for law degree. Trustee of two charities and non exec of three small companies. Lecture to local charities on trustee law/guidance and good HR/finance practice
