More about you (Short Bio or any other details you’d like people to know)
A veteran “change agent,” author and activist. Before staring my own business, I worked in UK, Jamaica and North America in different organisations, mainly in HR, leadership development and internal consulting. In 1987, I started my own consulting business, helping directors and senior managers lead strategic change successfully and create better, more sustainable workplaces and develop themselves as leaders. I also trained many consultants. I wrote about my work to reflect and share.

Today I mainly write, lobby, help our local Transition Town leadership, do some business school “teaching”, give participative talks/events on the global crisis and what we need to do to bring about a sustainable, fairer and non-violent world.

I am passionate about sustainability and global justice. Five and a half years working in Jamaica and returning there several times recently has made a big impact on me, as have visiting Cuba to study organic cultivation and India to study Vandana Shiva's initiatives to help poor farmers and the relevance of Gandhi’s thinking to the global crisis we face today. My fourth book, LIVING SYSTEM – making sense of sustainability reflects these influences. I love the countryside, trekking in mountains, trees, cultivating fragrant shrubs, flowers, fruit and vegetables, architecture, music, learning about different cultures and travelling in hot countries, especially Jamaica, and Southern Europe.

Interests. I support many NGOs and research groups: Unlock Democracy, Local Works, the New Economics Foundation (nef) Garden Organic, Cuba Organic Support Group, Greenpeace, CND, World Development Movement., Oxford Research Group, Peace Direct and Roadpeace.

I am writing a new radical book that I hope will inspire more people to act to prevent catastrophe.
What I’d like from the AMED network is…
Mutual Support to and from like minded people who believe a better world is possible - sustainable, just and non-violent. - and want to make it happen.
What do you do for your own development?
I read, go to workshop[s and conferences, research and do things that terrify me like public speaking and writing. I go to Landmark forums, courses and seminars.
