At its Annual Conference and Exhibition in Manchester, the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) has published the first in a series of six exclusive thought pieces on talent management. Written in collaboration with a range of experts and thought leaders in the field, the series is designed to start a debate about future talent strategies and identify some of the macro and micro challenges that are likely to determine our approaches. It will challenge talent management specialists to practise what they preach by future proofing their own strategies in the same way they help the businesses in which they work to build sustainable futures.

The thought pieces will be published over a period of six weeks starting today and can be viewed at www.cipd.co.uk/talentforward, where visitors are encouraged to join in the debate. The topics covered will be:

Talent Forward: context

Part 1: Tackling the new global talent realities
Part 2: Talent and changing values

Part 3: Talent clusters
Part 4: Developing talent measurement insight
Part 5: Talent partnerships throughout and beyond the organisation
Part 6: Talent sustainability coming out of recession
