‘Through books, art, and social events we aim to take you on a journey around the world while simultaneously travelling through London.’
Mingle – Explore – Linger - Enjoy
Come and hear Emma’s story about her journey to set up the Travelling Through international culture hub in Lower Marsh, by London Waterloo, SE1. Whatever our individual contexts, Emma will facilitate a connection between our own writing and reading journeys, and stimulate us to expand our horizons even more widely. For a refreshing change, we’ll meet in the Travelling Through independent bookshop/café itself.

‘Our aim is to provide the customer with a unique way to explore their cultural roots as well as those of others. Whether a local resident, Londoner, commuter, or overseas visitor (and whether in person or by virtual means alone), we hope Travelling Through will become a natural extension of your everyday life, of your reading, your socialising and your cultural interests as well as your coffee or tea drinking habits.’
A little about Emma
Emma worked in cultural heritage conservation in London and SE Europe before giving in to a long-recurring pipe dream and setting up Travelling Through in 2014 as a ‘fusion indie bookshop, cafe, culture hub and art space linking culture, community and place.’ [Blog: ‘From Pipedream to Reality’). email@example.com
How to reserve you place
Because of the size and intimate nature of our venue, the number of available places is limited. So it’s best to book early to avoid disappointment.
Cost (payable in advance via the AMED web page by Paypal, BACS or cheque here, or on arrival): £12 for full AMED Members; £15 for Networkers and Guests. This includes light refreshments.
RSVP: If you can, please reply by 19 April (earlier if possible). Please note that we publicise AWG events on several different platforms. So the RSVPs you see on the AMED web page do not necessarily represent everyone who is coming.
Please feel free to contact me beforehand if you have any questions or suggestions, or if you’d like to offer to lead a session for the AMED Writers’ Group.
Best wishes. Bob. E: firstname.lastname@example.org
