Event Description

Your invitation to join our OST project ...

to embody open source thinking/praxis in a cross-cultural setting.

About T(OST)AT 2017

Another residential Gathering in the foothills of the French Pyrenees between Friday 9 - Monday 12 June involves:

o   Practical work on a landscape project led by French members of Tostatenfleur, an Association for improving this small village’s living environment.

o   Jointly shaping and developing the rest of our time together through informal, open space or world café sessions

o   Time for personal reflection and individual space.  There is a meditative labyrinth in the garden which we can also use.

The T(OST)AT 2017 hosting team

We (Rosemary, Alison and Andy and Bob) regard our role as curators, holding up between us the frame of a large canvas.  Behind the canvas are some underpinning principles. At present, the front of the canvas is largely bare, leaving space  for creative contributions from participants to illustrate OST principles such as:

o   Embodying generosity and reciprocity

o   Listening well to each other

o   A willingness to explore ways to reach across languages and cultures (in this case, principally French and English)

o   Volunteering to make our temporary community comfortable, by sharing cooking, cleaning, washing-up and sweeping.

As you can see, this is not a conventional workshop event. As a Participant, you’ll be open to new learning and experiences and keen to share responsibility for the success of a highly participatory, experiential event through facilitating and participating actively in agenda-building, emergent activities and conversations that are characterised by openness.

Are you interested in joining us?

If this appeals to you, we’d love to have a brief e-mail from you, expressing your interest in participating.  We will be finalising arrangements for up to 14 participants by the end of May 2017, so please get in touch with us before then.  We’ll then contact you again as soon as we can to confirm your place and let you have more details.

Cost and payment

You’d be responsible for your own travel costs and arrangements (we’ve included some useful travel suggestions on our T(OST)AT 2017 website below). Your £160 contribution for the Gathering itself includes all local lodging, meals, and pick-up costs from Lourdes or Tarbes. You can pay online or by cheque by clicking here.

If you’d like to know more about our OST project, please click on this link, or contact Alison, E: alisonpia@live.co.uk or Bob, E: bob@amed.org.uk.  Meantime, you can send your ideas about OST to us here.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Alison and Bob, on behalf of the T(OST)AT 2017 Hosting Team
