DESCRIPTION:Please note that you don't have to be a NAWE Member to att
 end, and that Chilworth Manor is a delightful setting, just on the out
 skirts of Southampton.\n\n\nCall for Proposals\n\n\nNAWE members are
  invited to submit proposals to this essential UK event for writers 
 working in all educational and community contexts.\n\nThe NAWE Confere
 nce enables writers to share their experience of teaching writing at a
 ll levels and to address current issues. We are open to any suggestion
 s in terms of presentation format. Based on our evaluation of your com
 ments from previous years, however, we are likely to give preference t
 o workshop style sessions or discussions where delegates can be active
 ly involved.\n\n\nThe Conference will run from Friday evening through 
 to Sunday midday. There will be special guests (Graham Swift, novelist
 , and Wendy Cope, poet), one on each evening.\n\nProposals should cons
 ist of a brief (100 word) outline, describing the focus and structure 
 of the session, together with a more detailed description (250 words m
 ax) and biographical information on all presenters (50 words each). Th
 e suggested length of a session is 75-90 minutes (though sessions may 
 be shared). Please also specify exactly what technical equipment you r
 equire. All presenters need to register as delegates but will have a p
 roportion (20%) of the conference fee waived.\n\nDeadline for proposal
