Event Description

This event IS going ahead - we are combining attendees from a few other sister organisations. RSVP today!

We are delighted to have Dr. Ginny Whitelaw present a 'Lunch and Learn' London session for AMED.

Tickets to attend: £7 Full Paying AMED members, all others £10. Does not include lunch. Does include an amazing speaker who will be exploring how not to let yourself or your clients become 'victims' of your strengths. Join Dr. Ginny Whitelaw in a mind-body immersion experience into the 4 patterns of personality, learning not only which ones underlie your strengths, but also those that would strengthen your play. You’ll find the energy patterns are a source of endless personal insight, and also a transformational way to work with your clients and teams on how they can embody what they learn, and become the changes they want to create.

A biophysicist by training, Dr. Ginny Whitelaw combines a rich scientific background with senior leadership experience at NASA, and more than 15 years developing the leaders of Global 1000 companies. She is a Zen priest and 5th degree black belt in Aikido, bringing a mind-body integrated approach to her work with coaches and leaders. She’s led the development of the Focus Energy Balance Indicator (FEBI™), which measures one’s preferences among the energy patterns, and is the co-author (with Betsy Wetzig) of Move to Greatness, which applies the patterns to whole and balanced leadership. Copies of her book will be available for sale at the event.

Arrive at 12 - buy lunch at this great little pub. Be ready to start at 1230. Goes 'til 2pm.

RSVP today!
Buy your ticket now by clicking here and using the Paypal button. (Note: you don't need a Paypal account to buy via Paypal).

If you would prefer to pay at the door, please still rsvp either by this page and clicking 'attend' (you will need an AMED profile to do so) or by calling Belina on 0777 923 5566.

Hi, Belina and Ginny

Sounds marvellous. Sadly, I have another commitment that day. I hope it goes well. Perhaps some of playfulness you generate will carry over 24 hours to our AGM on 22 June. Best wishes for a great happening. Bob

Sorry to be missing this - I'm meeting fabulous colleagues to plan a workshop helping community food start-ups. Wonder what strengths my little team should be playing to....

Have a great lunch & learn.

Penny

I don't think I'll make this...too tight a squeeze before my train (to Paris!) at 4pm.
I'm sure it will go really well - enjoy!

Facilitation Training (Edinburgh) at The Melting Pot

April 4, 2012 from 10am to 4pm
‘Very useful, made me reconsider my approach when dealing with communities’Brian Dunne (Scottish Natural Heritage) ‘Extremely helpful to go through the whole process of facilitation’Ruth Campbell (Waste Aware Scotland) ‘Lots of meaty content - very engaging!’The Eden Project The need for good local engagement is becoming ever more important as work develops around empowerment and the ‘Big Society’. The CourseThis interactive course will look closely at the roles a facilitator may play and how and when a facilitator’s role may link in to work on longer term community development. It will build the confidence of anyone keen to be a good facilitator and give them a solid basis on which to develop their own skills. Local meetings and engagement processes can too often be un-involving, unproductive and even confrontational. Good facilitation can help tackle these problems and help people to make local discussion and planning an enjoyable and productive process. It is also important for the development of better policy and practice, for understanding local needs and developing more sustainable communities. People attending this course will learn how to:1. How and when to hold meetings and when to use other approaches2. Build a working relationship with an existing organisation or a group of individuals3. Use appropriate tools and techniques4. Develop facilitation work in ways appropriate to a range of diverse communities5. Deal with problematic situations6.
